NEW DELHI: An IIT graduate yesterday accused former IPS officer Kiran Bedi of copying the concept of his website which tracks unlodged FIRs, an allegation refuted by her.
Ashutosh Kumar, who runs finerindia.Com, alleged that Bedi's saferindia.Com was a "copy" of his website which he claimed was launched ten days ahead of hers.
He said he will send a legal notice to Bedi in this regard.
Kumar said he wanted deletion of the phrase "Mission Safer India is a pioneering management" (with regard to connecting citizens with police services) on saferindia.Com, saying it was "misleading" and that he was the first to launch a website to track unlodged FIRs in India.
When contacted, Bedi said her website was not meant for tracking unlodged FIRs but helping people connect with police.
"This is news to me (the allegations). We are not into tracking FIRs. We simply help people connect with police in registering FIRs," she said.
"I think that there should be more such websites so that people get help. The Internet is nobody's monopoly," she added.
