KOCHI: An Indian Catholic priest abducted from Yemen this year appealed to Pope Francis and the Union government through a purported video to secure his release from his captors. "If I were a European priest, I would have been taken more seriously. I am from India. KSRTC salary will be disbursed partially from today

Saritha, Biju found guilty in solar case, Shalu Menon acquitted
 
ERNAKULAM: The court Friday found guilty Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan, accused in the sensational solar case. Meantime, actress Shalu Menon, her mother Kaladevi and Manimon- employee of Team Solar, other accused in the case, have been acquitted. The Perumbavoor First Class Magistrate Court will pronounce the quantum of sentence later today.

Solar: Oommen Chandy told to appear in court; No stay on penal action
 
BENGALURU: Bengaluru Session court has asked former chief minister Oommen Chandy to appear directly on December 13 in a solar-related case filed by business man M K Kurivila. The court also made it clear now there was no need for stay on the order for initiating penal action against Chandy as there was time till January to implement the order.
