No case will be filed against Saseendran without complaint, says police
 
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have informed that there will be no case filed against the A K Saseendran who on March 26 resigned from his post as the transport minister soon after an audio clip of him having a lewd conversation with a woman did the rounds in the media. They added that a case can be filed only if the concerned woman lodges a complaint against the minister.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A K Saseendran, who resigned as transport minister on March 26 following allegations of him having a lewd conversation with a woman over the phone, met up with chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Cliff House.

KOLLAM: In a bizarre incident, a youth unexpectedly attacked a stationary store and injured the shop owner. The victim G Vishwan (59) runs a stationary shop near his house at Kochuveetu Mukku, in Kottankara panchayat.

SC refuses to cancel Krishnadas’ bail
 
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Monday rejected state government’s demand seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Krishnadas, chairman of Pampady Nehru College, in connection with the death of Jishnu Pranoy. The court had also rejected Mahila’s plea voicing the same demand.

Stolen baby found out; woman arrested
 
KOZHENCHERRY: The new-born baby that was stolen from Pathanamthitta district hospital was found out a few hours ago by the police. The lady who stole the baby is also under arrest. The baby and the lady was tracked down at Vechuchira.

Hearth lit for Attukal Pongala
 
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Attukal Bhagavathy Temple melshanthi (chief priest) Arun Nampoothiri lit the main hearth inside the sanctum sanctorum at 10.45 am for the pongala marking the culmination of the 10-day annual festival of the temple. The sanctification (nivedyam) ceremony will be conducted by priests at 2.15 pm.

Woman burnt by lover dies, youth arrested
 
KALLAMBALAM: A woman, who was set on fire on Friday by her lover after dousing her with petrol, succumbed to the burns on Wednesday. The dead has been identified as Kollam native Ambili (33), who had been staying in a rented house in Kallambalam Seemanthapuram.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAN: Excise Minister T P Ramakrishnan has said, in the wake of the Supreme Court order directing closing down of bars along National and State highways, further steps will be taken in consultation with legal experts.

State GST bill in April
 
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An assembly session will be convened in April to get passed the State GST bill. Finance Minister Thomas Isaac informed this while addressing a meeting of traders, merchants etc prior to the presentation of State budget. The meeting was also an occasion for them to submit all instructions and grievances on GST.
